FC Zurich Wins against FC St Gallen for the First Time This Season

FC Zurich Draws FC Lausanne-Sport

After beating St Gallen last week, FC Zurich has won another point against coach Laurent Roussey’s team FC Lausanne-Sport as their game ended in a 1:1 draw tonight.

In the 6th minute already, Malaury Martin put the home side 1:0 ahead. After the halftime break, FC Zurich increased their pressure on the Lausanne goal and these efforts were rewarded with the 1:1 equalizer: After a foul on Amine Chermiti in the box in the 67th minute, Josip Drmic converted the penalty – it was his tenth goal of the current season. Until the final whistle, FC Zurich had some more good opportunities to even fetch the victory tonight, but they did not succeed in scoring the game-winning goal and the match finished in a 1:1 draw.

With this result, FC Zurich remains in 5th place which would be enough to qualify for the Europa League. Next Wednesday, FC Zurich will be facing FC Basel, the current leader of the Super League, at home.
