Tonight’s encounter between FC Zurich and FC St Gallen at the Letzigrund Stadium has finished in a 2-2 draw.

FC Zurich put quite some pressure on their opponents at the beginning of the game and created several promising scoring opportunities for themselves during the first minutes of play. And a little over 30 minutes in, they finally opened the score: Avi Rikan headed the ball to Franck Etoundi, and the Cameroonian striker beat St Gallen keeper Herzog with a skilled chip to put his team in front.

After the half-time break, the visitors were able to make the previously rather one-sided match a more evenly balanced affair, and Rodriguez equalized the score after approximately one hour. But FC Zurich showed an immediate reaction: A perfectly timed pin-point pass by Davide Chiumiento found Zurich’s top scorer Mario Gavranovic, who was not going to let this formidable chance go by unused and put his team in the lead again (2-1). But unfortunately, this advantage did not last long as FC St. Gallen succeeded in equalizing with virtually their next attack, when Nater flicked a long ball on to Lenjani, who netted the ball home without difficulty.

Despite the fact that both teams then had several opportunities to score the game-winning goal, the game remained tied at 2-2 until the final whistle.

FC Zurich will be facing FC Lausanne-Sport in their next away game this coming Thursday evening.
