FC Zurich Win Away Game against FC Spartak Trnava 3-1

FC Zurich have won the first leg away game of the UEFA Europa League play-offs against Slovakian club FC Spartak Trnava 3-1 tonight. All three goals for the visitors were scored by Amine Chermiti – and all of them were of magnificent and sensational quality.

The Tunisian striker volleyed the ball into the net after a cross by Chikhaoui to open the score on four minutes already. During injury time of the first half, Chermiti put his side into the lead again with a fabulous back heel goal – the Slovakians had previously equalized from the spot. On 58 minutes, Chermiti ultimately decided today’s encounter with the 3-1 for the visitors – again scored in outstanding fashion: standing with his back to the Trnava goal, he deflected the ball into the net with the outside of his foot.

Tonight’s victory puts FC Zurich in an excellent position to secure a place in the UEFA Europa League group phase next Thursday. The second leg home game will take place on 28 August 2014 at the AFG Arena in St Gallen (kick-off 8:30pm).
