FC Zurich have won today’s Super League away game against FC St Gallen 0-2, especially thanks to an outstanding performance in the second half. Both goals were scored within just three minutes.

After a bad pass by St Gallen’s Besle a little over 10 minutes in, Avi Rikan got through on the left side and passed the ball to Oliver Buff, who fell in the box and gestured that he had been fouled – but the referee thought otherwise and decided not to blow his whistle. During the very next attack on the Zurich goal, Lenjani got away from the defense and rushed onto the ball, but keeper Da Costa denied him at the last moment. FC Zurich created several more chances for themselves, and when the ball hit Kapiloto’s hand in the box, the referee awarded the visitors a penalty, which was unfortunately missed by Gilles Yapi.

In the 77th minute, the visitors from Zurich finally scored the first goal of the afternoon: after a bad clearing (or was it even a professional foul?) by Besle, the ball turned into a perfect delivery for Rikan, who scored the well-deserved opener for FC Zurich. Just three minutes later, it was Franck Etoundi’s turn to double Zurich’s lead and decide this afternoon’s game. In the final minutes of today’s encounter, Rodriguez almost increased the score to 3-0.

FC Zurich will be facing FC Sion in their next Super League game at home on 14 September.
