This evening’s Super League game between FC Zurich and FC Aarau has ended in a 0-0 draw.

The home side from Zurich tried to take control of the action on the pitch from the beginning of the match and created the first three promising scoring opportunities during the 10 opening minutes alone. Two shots by Schönbächler and Chiumiento were saved by Aarau keeper Mall, and another try again by Schönbächler was just a few centimetres wide.

FC Zurich were ultimately close to taking the lead on 68 minutes when Burim Kukeli played a low cross to Yassine Chikhaoui – but unfortunately, the Tunisian midfielder was not able to lift the ball over keeper Mall.

On 79 minutes, Mall then miraculously saved a volley by Djimsiti – most of the 7,212 supporters in the Letzigrund Stadium had already jumped off their seats in anticipation of the winning goal. It was not to be, though, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

FC Zurich will be facing Young Boys Berne in their next away game this coming Sunday afternoon.
