FC Zurich have finally won a point again after 6 losses in a row (5 in the league, 1 in the Swiss Cup). Their encounter with FC Aarau away in the Brügglifeld Stadium has ended in a 0-0 draw tonight.

The visitors had the first opportunity of the evening on 15 minutes: The ball found its way to Alain Nef following a corner kick by Avi Rikan but unfortunately, the Zurich defender did not manage to put the ball away in his 200th competitive match for his club.

Shortly before the half-time whistle, Captain Yassine Chikhaoui then missed Zurich’s best chance as the Tunisian was denied by Aarau keeper Mall (42nd minute).

Considering the performances of the two teams, the final score of 0-0 was the logical and deserved result. As quite a few Zurich players were out of action tonight due to suspensions or injuries, several youngsters found their way into the starting line-up. „They did a good job“, said head coach Urs Meier afterwards.

FC Zurich will be facing FC Sion in their next away game in the Stade de Tourbillon on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm). Captain Yassine Chikhaoui is suspended and will miss this match.
