In their fourth game of the 2015/2016 Super League season, FC Zurich have beat FC St Gallen 2-0 away and celebrated their first victory.

FC St Gallen got very close to the opener on just 5 minutes. Following a corner kick by Aleksic, Zurich’s Cabral slipped in the box, which allowed St Gallen’s striker Bunjaku to head the ball towards the visitors’ goal completely unmarked. But luckily, the ball bounced off the crossbar.

Armenian midfielder Artem Simonyan had the first promising scoring opportunity for FC Zurich 35 minutes in, but his shot hit the side-netting. Oliver Buff then opened the score six minutes later: after a fine chip over the St Gallen defense by Cabral, the midfielder nutmegged keeper Lopar, putting his side 1-0 up shortly before the half-time whistle.

After the break, Mario Gavranovic threw away the chance to double FC Zurich’s lead to 2-0 when his spot-kick was denied by Lopar. Everton had fouled Simonyan in the box.

Late in injury time, the visitors finally managed to score their second of the afternoon. At first, Armando Sadiku was denied in a one-on-one with the St Gallen keeper, but the Albanian striker then played a clever pass to Di Gregorio, who decided the game with the 2-0 for FC Zurich.

FC Zurich will be facing FC Sion in their next away game this Thursday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
