FC Zurich have lost their away game against FC Thun 1-5 this afternoon.

FC Zurich had a good and promising start into today’s game, and they managed to score the first goal of the afternoon 17 minutes in when Armando Sadiku converted a well-timed delivery by Kevin Bua and put his side 1-0 up. But unfortunately, this advantage for the visitors was not to last long – on 25 minutes, Roman Buess leveled the score 1-1 and another six minutes later, the same player even put the home team in the lead when he scored his second goal (2-1).

As FC Zurich’s Amine Chermiti slapped his opponent Dennis Hediger in the face and was rightly sent off, the visitors had to finish the match down to just ten men. It was again Buess who cashed in on this advantage on the pitch and scored yet another goal (3-1) just before the half-time whistle.

During the second half, the team of head coach Sami Hyypiä was not able to show a reaction – things got even worse as Enrico Schirinzi (69, from the spot) and Ridge Munsy (89) both scored a goal each to put the final score to 5-1 for the home team from Thun. With this defeat, FC Zurich have now slipped to the bottom of the Super League table.

FC Zurich will be facing FC St. Gallen in their next home game this coming Saturday evening (kick-off 8pm).
