Alexander Kerzhakov, the all-time leading goal scorer of the Russian national team, joins FC Zurich on loan from FC Zenit St. Petersburg from January 1st 2016 until the end of the 2015/2016 season. FC Zurich head coach Sami Hyypiä, who himself played against Kerzhakov as an active player, said: “I’m obviously very happy that a player of his standing is joining our club. He will strengthen our team considerably – as a player but also with his personality.”

During his career, Alexander Kerzhakov also played for FC Dynamo Moscow and FC Sevilla, with whom he won the UEFA Cup in 2007.

The 33-year-old striker will take up training with FC Zurich on January 4th 2016.
