0-4 Defeat against FC Thun
FC Zurich showed a very weak performance in their away game against FC Thun this afternoon and suffered a justified 0-4 defeat.
Already in the third minute, Sven Joss put the home side 1-0 in the lead. The visitors from Zurich were not able to show a reaction to this deficit and during the next few minutes, FC Thun had numerous opportunities to increase their advantage; fortunately for FC Zurich, they failed to convert any of them. However, this came about in the 22nd minute, when Dennis Hediger doubled his side’s lead to 2-0 – FC Zurich had to consider themselves lucky as FC Thun should have decided the game by now.
After the half-time break, the team of head coach Sami Hyypiä tried to intensify their offensive efforts, which were crushed though on 55 minutes when Ridge Munsy scored the 3-0. And six minutes before the final whistle, the same player put the final score to 4-0 – he was involved in all goals this afternoon.
Today’s defeat is a hard setback for FC Zurich in the fight for survival in the Super League. In their next home game against FC Basel at the Letzigrund Stadium on Saturday evening, May 7th, they will have another chance to win some crucial points (kick-off 8pm).
