Keeper Andris Vanins joins FC Zurich

The keeper of Latvia’s national team Andris Vanins (aged 36 / 68 international caps) has signed a contract until June 30th, 2019 with FC Zurich. He joins the club with immediate effect from FC Sion, for which he’d played since 2009.

Andris Vanins began his professional footballing career at the age of 17 at FK Ventspils in Latvia’s top flight. With the exception of two years during which he played for FK Moscow and FK Venta (Latvia), he stayed with his first club for over 20 years. In 2009, Vanins joined FC Sion (total of 260 official appearances), with which he won the Swiss Cup in 2011 and 2015.
