FC Zurich beat FC Schaffhausen 2:1
FC Zurich have won tonight’s home game against FC Schaffhausen 2:1.
Getting to the Letzigrund Stadium early and in time for kick-off was really worth it today as the FC Zurich players went full throttle from the very first whistle and opened the score just 8 minutes in, when it was Antonio Marchesano who reacted the fastest following a mistake by the visitors’ keeper. His pass found Roberto Rodriguez who didn’t hesitate a second to convert this excellent opportunity and put his side 1:0 in front.
FC Schaffhausen found their way into the game a little better; but only a few moments after the half-time break, Moussa Koné doubled the home side’s lead to two goals when he scored the 2:0 in the 46th minute, thereby crushing the hopes of FC Schaffhausen and their coach Murat Yakin.
In injury time, Schaffhausen’s Steven Lang then reduced the visitors’ deficit to 1:2. But in the end, it was FC Zurich that got to celebrate a victory tonight and claim all three points to extend their lead at the top of the Challenge League table to seven points again.
Next Monday evening, 10 April, FC Zurich will be facing FC Le Mont away (kick-off 7.45pm).
