FC Zurich beat FC Schaffhausen 4-0
After a convincing performance, FC Zurich have won their away game against FC Schaffhausen 4-0 tonight. Zurich’s Dzengis Cavusevic scored the first goal of the evening after just 36 seconds when he headed home a cross into the box by Marco Schönbächler. It was the Slovenian striker’s first goal of the second half of the season.
The Schaffhausen players managed to show an immediate reaction, though, and got very close to the equalizer on 3 minutes when a curled ball by Luca Tranquilli bounced off the right post. But in the 13th minute, it was again FC Zurich who found the back of the net and increased their lead to two goals: Following a corner kick by Antonio Marchesano, Montenegrin defender Ivan Kecojevic headed the ball in to put the score to 2-0 for the visitors from Zurich.
However, FC Zurich were not content with this two-goal advantage and kept on looking for their third goal, and as FC Schaffhausen were also intensifying their offensive efforts, the visitors had more open space for their attacks. This paid off in the 67th minute when Michael Kempter got through the defense on the left, played a one-two with Raphael Dwamena and set up the Ghanaian striker nicely, who had no trouble to increase FC Zurich’s lead to 3-0. But this wasn’t the end of it just yet – the visitors even got a fourth goal: Antonio Marchesano’s through ball found Raphael Dwamena, who scored his second goal of the evening to put the final score to 4-0 for FC Zurich.
Next Saturday evening, 3 June 2017, FC Zurich will be facing FC Wohlen at the Letzigrund Stadium in their final Challenge League game (kick-off 5:45pm).
