FC Zurich draw Servette FC 1-1
FC Zurich remain unbeaten at home this season: their Challenge League game against Servette FC at the Letzigrund Stadium has ended in a 1-1 draw tonight – a well-deserved result for both sides.
Following a rather uneventful first half in which the visitors from Geneva had the better scoring opportunities, both teams increased the pace throughout the second forty-five minutes. In the 47th minute, after a long pass and a perfect finish by Jean-Pierre Nsamé, Servette FC then scored the first goal of the evening and took the lead.
FC Zurich had to show a reaction to this deficit – and that’s exactly what they did: When striker Raphael Dwamena was pulled back by a Servette defender in the box, Moussa Koné converted the penalty awarded without any problems to level the score at 1-1. It was the young Senegalese striker’s 16th goal of the current season.
As it turned out, this was also the final score. FC Zurich midfielder Oliver Buff, however, was not really happy with this result: “They certainly gave us a hard time and we didn’t show a convincing performance tonight.”
Next Saturday evening, FC Zurich will be facing FC Wil at home (kick-off 7pm).
