FC Zurich draw Young Boys Berne 3:3
The Super League game between FC Zurich and Young Boys Berne has ended in a 3:3 draw tonight.
FC Zurich went in front just seven minutes after kick-off when Stephen Odey took advantage of an error in the Young Boys defense, set off towards the visitors’ goal and beat keeper David von Ballmoos to put the home side 1:0 up. Just three minutes later, FC Zurich doubled their lead to 2:0 when Kololli was fouled in the box and stepped up to convert the spot kick.
Throughout the remainder of the first half, FC Zurich then took control of the game and kept their opponents at bay – Young Boys had their very first scoring opportunity only in the 33rd minute, but Hoarau’s shot bounced off the post.
In the 55th minute, Young Boys Berne got one back, however, when Hoarau converted a penalty kick awarded due to a hand ball in the box to put the score to 1:2. But only three minutes later, FC Zurich again increased their lead to two goals (3:1) when Rodriguez converted a penalty after he himself had been fouled in the box.
Young Boys did not give up just yet, though, and got back into the game again thanks to Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu’s 2:3 in the 64th minute. And just five minutes later, it was again Hoarau who got his second goal of the evening to equalize the score at 3:3. During the final 20 minutes of the game, both teams had several opportunities to score the winning goal, but the result remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Next Thursday evening, 25 October 2018, FC Zurich will be hosting Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the Letzigrund Stadium in their third UEFA Europa League group game (kick-off 6.55pm).
