FC Zurich sign striker Mimoun Mahi

24-year-old Moroccan-Dutch striker Mimoun Mahi is set to join FC Zurich from Dutch side FC Groningen at the start of the 2019/2020 season. He has signed a three-year contract until the summer of 2022.

Mimoun Mahi played several international matches with the various Dutch junior teams. In 2017, he opted for the Moroccan national team. Mahi was named in the squad selected for the World Cup in Russia, but had to decline due to an injury.

He gained his footballing education at Quick The Hague as well as at Sparta Rotterdam, where he was called up to the first team in 2012. After two seasons with Sparta Rotterdam, Mahi joined FC Groningen. So far, he has played 113 Eredivisie matches, scoring 35 goals and playing 17 assists.
