FC Zurich beat FC St Gallen 3-1
FC Zurich have won their away game against FC St Gallen 3-1 tonight.
Already in the third minute of the game, the visitors from Zurich took the 1-0 lead when Blaž Kramer’s pass towards the back found Schönbächler, who opened the score as his deflected shot found the back of the St Gallen net.
The St Gallen players then put their opponents under considerable pressure and created their first promising scoring opportunity, but FC Zurich keeper Yanick Brecher was able to clear a shot by Cedric Itten and deflect the ball over the crossbar in the 26th minute. Just two minutes later, the Zurich keeper was then powerless, however, as Quintillà converted a penalty to equalize the score at 1-1 (28th minute). In the 38th minute, the home team almost went in front, but Ermedin Demirovic's shot bounced off the woodwork.
Still before the half-time whistle, FC Zurich took the lead again when Marchesano converted a penalty to put the visitors 2-1 up; Kramer had been fouled in the box.
After a few scoring chances on either side of the pitch, it was finally FC Zurich striker Tosin’s turn to score the final goal of the evening in the74th minute: Following a quick counterattack, Tosin dribbled past the FC St Gallen keeper and put the final score to 3-1 for FC Zurich. A few moments before the final whistle, Mimoun Mahi almost got the 4-1, but his shot bounced off the post (89th minute).
