FC Zurich beat FC Thun 3-0
FC Zurich have won their home game against FC Thun 3-0 tonight.
Already in the opening minute of tonight’s game, FC Zurich had their very first scoring opportunity, but Thun keeper Guillaume Faivre was able to keep out a shot by Kevin Rüegg. After the visitors had missed two good chances, Marco Schönbächler (27th minute), Mirlind Kryeziu (27th minute) and Ceesay (29th minute) were also off target for FC Zurich and failed to put the home side in front.
When Ceesay was brought down in the penalty area in the 30th minute, Kololli stepped up and converted the penalty awarded without any problems to put FC Zurich 1-0 in the lead (31st minute). In the 34th minute, Odey stayed on top of things and kept the overview in the Thun penalty area to double Zurich’s lead to 2-0. And just one minute later, Ceesay even scored the 3-0 following a delivery by Marchesano.
Throughout the second half, FC Zurich then focused on their defense; however, they still almost scored the 4-0 in the 64th minute when Odey’s shot from close range bounced off the crossbar. FC Thun were unable to react to the deficit and the score remained unchanged 3-0 for FC Zurich until the final whistle.
Next Wednesday evening, 22 May 2019, FC Zurich will be facing FC Lucerne away (kick-off 8pm).
