FC Zurich beat FC Thun 1-0
FC Zurich have won their away game against FC Thun 1-0 tonight.
The visitors from Zurich had their first scoring opportunity of the evening in the ninth minute as, following a free-kick by Marco Schönbächler, Kramer headed the ball towards goal, but the Thun defenders were able to clear the ball off the line at the very last moment.
In the 40th minute, FC Zurich took the lead when Kramer appeared all alone in front of Thun keeper Guillaume Faivre following a through ball from Marchesano and pushed the ball into the net, putting his side 1-0 in the lead.
Shortly after the half-time break, FC Zurich had the chance to double their lead to two goals, but unfortunately, Kramer narrowly missed a Kololli cross in the box (47th minute). In the 59th minute, Simon Sohm was sent off after being awarded his second yellow card of the evening. Consequently, the FC Thun players now had considerably more ball possession and several promising opportunities to equalize the score by Simone Rapp and Grégory Karlen. But Zurich keeper Yanick Brecher was able to keep out their shots and headers, showing some magnificent saves, and the score remained unchanged 1-0 for FC Zurich until the final whistle.
Next Sunday afternoon, 10 November 2019, FC Zurich will be hosting FC Sion at the Letzigrund Stadium (kick-off 4pm).
