FC Zurich beat Neuchâtel Xamax 1:0
FC Zurich have won their away game against Neuchâtel Xamax FCS 1:0 tonight and have celebrated their fifth consecutive win.
In the 6th minute of the game, Kramer already had the first scoring opportunity for the visitors from Zurich following a free-kick by Marco Schönbächler; however, his header was aimed way too high and the ball flew over the crossbar of the Xamax goal. FC Zurich had their best opportunity of the first half in the 28th minute when both Aiyegun Tosin and Domgjoni just missed a cross from Marchesano in the penalty area.
After Kramer was not able to make use of two good chances following Schönbächler's delivery in the 51st and in the 58th minute, the Zurich striker finally opened the score to put FC Zurich 1:0 in front in the 65th minute: After Xamax keeper Minder only insufficiently deflected a cross by Tosin, Kramer converted the rebound, scoring his sixth goal of the season.
Throughout the remainder of the game, the home team from Neuchâtel had several good chances to equalize the score. And in the 76th minute, FC Zurich were lucky when Igor Djuric's 1:1 equalizer was canceled due to a challenge on Zurich goalkeeper Brecher. Instead, the visitors were able to defend their narrow lead and celebrated their fifth championship victory in a row.
Next Sunday afternoon, 8 December 2019, FC Zurich will be hosting Servette FC at the Letzigrund Stadium (kick-off 4pm).
