FC Zurich suffer 0-5 defeat against Servette FC
FC Zurich have lost their final home game of 2019 against Servette FC 0-5 this afternoon.
After the Geneva defense was able to fend off a Zurich counterattack in the 13th minute, the visitors took the early 1-0 lead just five minutes later thanks to a goal by Park (18th minute).
Shortly thereafter, FC Zurich had a good opportunity to equalize the score, but Toni Domgjoni’s shot from close range was off target and the ball flew over the crossbar (23rd minute). Instead of the Zurich equalizer, Servette’s Koro Kone doubled his side’s advantage to 2-0 still before the half-time break (43rd minute).
And just a few minutes after the second half had kicked off, Park scored his second goal of the game to put Servette FC 3-0 in front (51st minute). And it then took Park only another five minutes to find the back of the net yet again and score his third goal of the afternoon to increase the visitors’ lead to 4-0. Throughout the second half, the FC Zurich players were able to create just a few opportunities. Instead, Servette’s Boris Cespedes even scored the 0-5 in the 88th minute.
Next Saturday evening, 14 December 2019, FC Zurich will be facing FC St. Gallen away (kick-off 7pm).
