Swiss Cup quarter-final: FC Zurich beat SC Kriens 2-1
FC Zurich have won their Swiss Cup quarter-final against SC Kriens 2-1 tonight.
The FC Zurich players put their opponents under considerable pressure from the start of the game and had their first scoring opportunity early on in the match; however, SC Kriens keeper Sebastian Osigwe was able to keep out a shot by Benjamin Kololli just three minutes in. Nevertheless, with their very next chance, the home side still took the lead thanks to Khelifi’s 1-0 scored with a well-timed lob over the keeper (16th minute).
SC Kriens then got into the game better and created several chances to equalize. In the 27th minute FC Zurich keeper Andris Vanins managed to save a powerful header by Chihadeh. Nevertheless, the visitors equalized the score still before half-time when Chihadeh headed the ball home following a corner to put his side level 1-1 (44th minute). And Chihadeh could even have put SC Kriens 2-1 in front just a few moments later, but his shot was slightly off target and the ball hit the post (45th minute).
