FC Zurich suffer 2-3 defeat against Young Boys Berne
FC Zurich have lost their first game after the restart of the championship against Young Boys Berne 2-3 tonight.
The visitors from Zurich had their first scoring opportunity already in the first minute of tonight’s game: Antonio Marchesano’s pass found Kevin Rüegg, but Young Boys keeper David von Ballmoos was able to keep out his shot. The home side had their first chance in the 20th minute; however, FC Zurich goalkeeper Yanick Brecher deflected a low shot from Michel Aebischer against the post.
In the 25th minute, FC Zurich then took the lead: Kololli got the better of his opponent Christian Fassnacht and Tosin opened the score 1-0 for the visitors.
But already in the 32nd minute, Nsame managed to equalize the score with a volley. However, still before the half-time break, Kololli scored Zurich’s second goal to put his team into the lead again – he converted a free kick from around 25 meters (38th minute).
Unfortunately, Young Boys then scored two goals within just four minutes shortly before the final whistle: first Nsame in the 81st minute to put the home side 2-2 level and the same player following a corner kick to put the final result to 3-2 for Young Boys (85th minute).
Next Thursday evening, 25 June 2020, FC Zurich will be facing FC St Gallen away (kick-off 8.30pm).
