FC Zurich suffer 0:5 defeat against Young Boys Berne
FC Zurich have lost their home game against Young Boys Berne 0:5 tonight.
In the seventh minute of tonight’s game, FC Zurich had their first scoring opportunity of the evening through Benjamin Kololli, but his curled shot just narrowly missed its target and the ball whizzed past the right post. And after some opportunities for the visitors, it was then again Kololli who had another promising opportunity to put his side in the lead in the 28th minute; however, following a quick counterattack, he missed the Berne goal from a sharp angle.
Instead, Young Boys Berne then took advantage of two blunders in the Zurich defense to score two goals and take the 2:0 lead (Sulejmani in the 33rd minute and Nsame in the 42nd minute).
Throughout the second half, FC Zurich had but a few chances to score and get back into the game. The visitors, on the other hand, made efficient use of their chances and scored three more goals until the final whistle: Nsame in the 48th and 59th minute (penalty) and Spielmann in the 73rd minute put the final score to 5:0 for Young Boys Berne.
Next Wednesday evening, 22 July 2020, FC Zurich will be facing FC Lugano away (kick-off 8.30pm).
