Joël Magnin appointed assistant coach of the first team

49-year-old Joël Magnin has been appointed assistant coach of FC Zurich’s first team from 4 January 2021.

During his career as a professional footballer, Joël Magnin played 381 Super League games for Grasshopper Club, FC Lugano and Young Boys Berne. With Grasshopper Club, he became Swiss champion three times, won the Swiss Cup in 1994 and participated in the Champions League twice. Magnin started his coaching career at Young Boys Berne, where he was in charge of the U21s and the U18s, and in 2013, he held the position of assistant coach of the first team under Bernard Challandes. During the 2019/2020 season, Joël Magnin was head coach at Neuchâtel Xamax FCS.
