FC Zurich parts with Marco Schönbächler

As part of its squad planning, FC Zurich decided not to extend Marco Schönbächler's expiring contract.

Schönbächler joined FC Zurich from FC Urdorf in 2002 and then completed a large part of his football education with the club. The midfielder played for the first team since February 2007, celebrating two championship titles (2007, 2009) and three Swiss Cup wins (2014, 2016, 2018) with the club. During his 14 seasons as a professional with FC Zurich, he played 353 official matches, scoring 54 goals and playing 59 assists.

We’d like to thank Marco Schönbächler for his many years of great commitment to FC Zurich and wish him good luck and a lot of success!
