Shani Tarashaj in build-up training with FC Zurich
25-year-old forward Shani Tarashaj has been under contract with FC Zurich since the beginning of the year. He’s now training with the club’s U21s to get fit after a long period without team training.
At the age of 19, Tarashaj, who completed most of his footballing education at Grasshopper Club, made his debut with that club’s first team. After 52 Super League games, in which Shani Tarashaj scored 12 goals and three assists, he signed a multi-year contract with Everton in 2016. The five-time Swiss international was subsequently loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he played 15 competitive games, and again back to Grasshopper Club. Before Tarashaj terminated his contract with Everton, he was loaned to Dutch club FC Emmen.
FC Zurich sports director Marinko Jurendic on Tarashaj: "Shani was a top talent at the highest level in his younger years, but has had various injury-related setbacks. He recently completed an individual training program over several months to get back to his original performance level. Shani will start with our U21s to make further progress, and we hope that he can soon be a candidate for our first team."
FC Zurich welcomes Shani Tarashaj and wishes him the best of luck.
